UWA Cheerleading Program
The University of West Alabama cheerleader squad is an all girl squad consisting of 16 members. Cheerleaders receive $500 per semester scholarships.  Cheerleaders also receive all camp clothes, camp fees, uniforms and travel expenses. The squad participates in football games,  men’s and women's home basketball games, as well as fundraising events, alumni appearances and squad clinics.

In addition to the cheerleaders, our mascot LUie entertains Tiger fans at sporting events. The mascot receives a $500 per semester scholarship, as well as camp clothes, camp fees, mascot uniform and travel expenses.

Eligibility Requirements
In order to be a member of the UWA Cheerleading squad you must be a full-time student and maintain a 2.0 cumulative Grade Point Average.

Each member is required to have personal health insurance. Proof of insurance is required to participate in any cheerleading activities, including tryouts. The insurance must be maintained throughout the year.

Cheerleaders may have jobs or extracurricular activities only if they do not conflict with ANY UWA Cheerleading events. This includes all games and all practices.
