Being a registered
nurse is one of the most rewarding and challenging of all
professional careers. As a registered nurse you can have the
opportunity to promote health, serve humanity and experience the
self-satisfaction of a rewarding career.
The career outlook for registered nursing has been excellent
over the past few decades. A shortage of nurses in some parts of the
country has led some hospitals and other employers in those areas to
offer flexible work schedules, educational benefits, higher pay, and
other incentives to retain existing staff and for recruiting.
If you are looking for a nursing program with individualized
instruction, a variety of health settings and an associate degree
program which will qualify you for the National Licensure Exam for
Registered Nurses, then The University of West Alabama may be the
school for you. The nursing program at The University of West
Alabama is approved by the State of Alabama and accredited by the
National League for Nursing.
The curriculum consists of six
consecutive semesters including two academic years and 2 summer
semesters. Nursing students at The University of West Alabama have
the advantage of experiencing a university environment and are
encouraged to participate in extra-curricular activities on campus.
