Environmental Sciences
Environmental
Sciences is an interdisciplinary field, which means that the
course of study integrates many major areas of science,
including biology, ecology, chemistry, and geology. The
program offers students a choice between a track that
focuses on the natural sciences and a track that
focuses on the physical sciences.
The curriculum
provides students with an understanding of the principles
and processes that govern living and environmental systems.
A study of the influences of humans on global environmental
processes is also included. Additionally, students gain
skills in the use of scientific instrumentation and the
collection and interpretation of data.
As in many fields,
the level of advancement in Environmental Sciences positions
depends, to a certain extent, upon academic training beyond
the bachelor’s degree. This program also prepares students
for the rigorous academic environment of graduate school.
